Description

  1. Los Patos: This ranch is adjacent to a pond where ducks, “Los Patos” stop off on their north-south migrations. It is about 10 km west of the town of Jesus Maria in the direction of Mexico City. The ranch is on a hill that slopes to the west receiving sun in the afternoon. It has the characteristic red soil of the Highlands and is above 2200 meters in altitude. At harvest, the agaves were 7 years old and the average sugar content was 26.29%.
  2. Tequila Ocho demonstrates that “terroir” exists in agave. Ocho’s single estates show through their distinct aroma and character. Tequila Ocho opens up and develops in the glass the same way a fine wine does.
  3. Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the agave was harvested as is done with fine wines. Each estate, or “rancho” produces a limited amount of agave, each vintage of Ocho is both rare and collectable.
  4. 80 Proof / 40% ABV / 750mL

Nose: Floral aromas, including hints of gardenia, mild citrus, light chocolate, but still lots of agave present

Taste: Honey, butter, cooked agave, vanilla and light caramel sweetness

Finish: Oily, with notes of brown spice and pepper
