Poggio del Concone is a wine that blends together the distinctive Tuscan character with the noble elegance of Piemonte.
- THE GRAPES: Merlot, Cabernet and Sangiovese
- TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red. Aromas of blackberry and fresh plums, cherries, currants and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, fruity notes are accompanied by a pronounced acidity. In addition, this is a mouth filling, fresh wine with polished tannins. Warm with a long finish.
- WINE-MAKING PROCESS: The three grape varieties are vinified separately in order to best preserve their individual characteristics. Sangiovese and Merlot are cold-soaked for five days at 4°C, before being fermented for 12 to 14 days at a controlled temperature of max. 24°C. 30% of the batch is aged in barrels for three months, followed by two months in bottles.
